A rare piece to behold and never again find, this original early 1930's cream silk and gold lamé evening cape, rendered in a decadent paisley and animal pattern, is the perfect statement piece for your evening wardrobe.
The wonderful wide rounded collar, boasts detailed slim pleats that radiate along the internal edges and set off the structural shape of the collar. The cross over V shaped neckline draws in along the left hand side with a matching lamé covered button and loop. The elegant sloped shoulder line sets off the length and timeless cut, which boasts side slits along each side seam in which you may thread your arms. The elegant line of the cape, showcases a pattern of wild animals, elephants, deer, horses and tigers, surrounded by paisley motifs and wild jungle foliage, in a gold lamé woven pattern set against a cream silk base. This cape is fully lined in a cream rayon.

Condition: This cape is in near perfect vintage condition. Light and gentle tarnishing to the gold lamé thread. Some of the metal thread has worn down and is starting to reveal the yellow thread interior of the wound lamé. A few very light age marks to the rayon lining, one along the internal hemline. Very light thread lifting to the lamé. This minor details are in no way apparent when the cape is being worn and only noticeable upon close inspection.
