A rare piece to behold, this original 1940's summer weight cotton ensemble, comprised of a blouse and matching skirt, rendered in a cream coloured cotton, with tan coloured embroidery and cream floral appliqués, is just the set to welcome to your every day wardrobe.
The rounded neckline of the blouse is framed by a border of cream embroidered floral appliqués. The elegant shoulder line, boasts Princess seam that run along either side of the front of the blouse and join in an angle seam along the waistline. The short length sleeves, set off the elegant cut, which features central trailing floral embroidery, accented by cream embroidered floral appliqués. Finished with central matching cotton covered button fastenings along the back.
The matching skirt, boasts a simple waistband which is concealed by a wide tan coloured faille ribbon, which fastens in a bowl along the central back of the skirt. The panelled cut of the skirt, is accented by two inverted pleats, which set off the trailing floral designs and appliqués along the three front panels of the skirt. Finished with a side pockets to each side seam, this original 1940's set is sure to be a favourite within your collection.

Condition: This suit is in near perfect vintage condition. Very light impression marks to the faille belt along the skirt waistband . A small age mark to the bottom right hand side of the blouse ( the blouse is worn tucked into the skirt, so this age mark is not apparent when the set is worn together ) Some light yellowing and discolouration to the floral appliqués along the neckline of the blouse. A small pin sized age mark to the left hand side of the front of the blouse along the central panel. These minor details are not apparent when the set is being worn, and only noticeable upon closer inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
These minor issues are in no way apparent when the suit is being worn, and only noticeable under very close inspection.
