Rendered in vibrant shade of violet crepe silk and decorated with a palette of lilac and purple sequins, this original 1940's skirt suit, is just the perfect ensemble for your tailored wardrobe.
The V shaped neckline of the jacket, is framed by a notched collar. The simple shoulder line sets off the full length sleeves. The elegant tailored bodice, is accented by bust seams and tailored darts, that set off the fitted waistline. Embellished with sequin floral appliqués along the right hand side of the bust-line and left hand side of the hipline and finished with matching covered crepe silk buttons. The matching skirt is accented by a wide fitted waistband, which boasts side hook and eye fastenings and a metal zip. The panelled cut of the skirt, completes this ensemble in a classic and timeless silhouette.

Condition: This suit is in good but not perfect vintage condition. The jacket has colour fading along the yokes and shoulder lines, alongside with the collar. This colour fading and variation appears lighter in some areas. A small pin hole to the left hand side yoke near the sleeve seam. Colour fading along the left hand sleeve. A linear white mark along the centre back of the hemline. Some of the gelatine sequins along the right hand side bust-line have shrunk. The skirt is colour faded and has colour fading throughout, as with the jacket this natural process to the crepe silk is due to prolonged exposure to sunk. Four linear white lines along the front of the skirt-line. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report. These minor details are not overly apparent when the suit is being worn but noticeable upon closer inspection. .
