"Crewelwork Stitches" Vintage 1940's Deep Burgundy Crewel Embellished Skirt Set UK 10

A rare piece to behold and never again find. This 1940's deep burgundy cotton skirt set, embellished with trailing floral embroidery, is the perfect piece for your vintage wardrobe.

Her wide pointed collar, edged with trailing crewel stitches, fastens with a small button and loop, and sets off the cross over cut of the blouse. Her 3/4 length sleeves, are set off by turned up cuffs, that meet in points along the back of the sleeves, and are decorated with matching trailing crewelwork stitches. Her dolman sleeves, frame the cross over feature of the blouse, that fastens along the back of the cinched in waistline with 2 matching fabric ties, in a ballerina style.
Her elegant skirt boasts a crewelwork embellished waistband that sets off the small box pleats below the waist, and the wonderful drape of the skirt. The hemline of the skirt is accented my larger crewelwork embroidery, and scattered patterns throughout the skirt.
The skirt has been photographed with a medium petticoat for added volume, this is not included in the listing.

Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for, they may however have a blemish or two. Here at Willow Hilson, we try our very best to note all the details of each garment, although we may sometimes overlook things, which we do apologise for. Please do not expect perfection, unless stated so.

Please make sure you check all the measurements of the garment before purchasing. Vintage garment sizes are not the same as those of today. To ensure the best fit, we suggest you measure you favourite similar style garment and compare it to the measurements we have listed. All our measurements are taken whilst the garment is lying flat, we then double these measurements to reflect the actual size.
