"The Mistress" Vintage 1940's Red Longline Peplum Skirt Suit UK

A rare piece to behold and never again find. This 1940's red wool and silk mix suit, accented by a longline cut jacket, in a classic silhouette, is perfect for your vintage wardrobe.

Her rounded scalloped collar is framed by darts along each yoke and full length sleeves.
Her fitted cut, is accented by matching covered button fastenings.
Her cinched in waistline is set off by the longline cut of jacket, and the elegant peplum cut hemline.
The back of the jacket features 2 rows of decorative matching covered buttons, that set off the nipped in waistline, and showcase the peplum panelled cut.
The simple longline tailored skirt, in a classic strain cut, sits perfectly under the jacket, creating an iconic 1940's silhouette.

Condition: This suit is in near perfect vintage condition. Two Small darns just above the cuff level on the left hand side sleeve. A small dot mark along the left hand yoke seam. The top button hole underneath the collar has been sewn shut. There is a small darn to the silk lining along the back of the shoulder area.
A small panel has been added along the waistband of the skirt, presumably to make it a little bigger, this has been done sympathetically and well.

Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned
