"Fatale" Vintage Late 1940's Chartreuse Green Silk Jersey Draped Evening Dress

This incredibly beautiful late 1940's dress dated to 1946 or 1947 is is a rare piece to behold and never again find.

Her sweetheart neckline is framed by a wide pleated halter-neck and internal wiring along the bust-line keeping the structure of this piece in place. Her ruched and gathered bodice showcases the intricate draping techniques popular in the late 1940's, internally structured with boning. The gathered ruching along the bust line sets off the fitted ruched bodice and cinched in waistline, accented by a sash that drapes along the length of the dress. The incredible drape of the silk jersey is showcased in the length of the skirt, and intricate cut along the back, as the hemline is rounded in a long draped panel.
Chartreuse green was a popular colour in the Autumn & Winter collections of wholesale couture during 1946 & 1947s

Closures: This dress fastens to the back with an 18 inch metal zip and a single hook and eye

Condition: This dress is in near vintage condition. With some general wear marks to the underneath of the drape in the skirt. This is is no way visible when the dress is being worn and only apparent under close internal inspection.

Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
