"Belle Epoque" Vintage 1940's Black Wool Embellished Dress UK 14-16

"Belle Epoque" Vintage 1940's Black Wool Embellished Dress

Decorated with the most exquisite trailing leaf beadwork in bronze coloured beads, this original 1940's wool dress is the perfect addition to your vintage wardrobe.

Her high neckline is framed by full length bishop sleeves with buttoned cuffs. Her central panel, embellished with trailing crewel work embroidery, and framed with beadwork to either side, draws the eye to the central gathering along the waistband. Her fitted waistline, is accented by a flowing skirt, decorated with micro pleating under the central waist point, allowing for the drape of the skirt to fall with movement, whilst framed by the intricate beadwork that falls from shoulder to hem.

Dress her up with your favourite sparkling accessories or more casually with brown boots to complete your outfit.

We believe this piece may be a maternity dress, as the central panel is secured only along the yoke and waistline, facilitating breastfeeding.

Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for, they may however have a blemish or two. Here at Willow Hilson, we try our very best to note all the details of each garment, although we may sometimes overlook things, which we do apologise for. Please do not expect perfection, unless stated so.

Please make sure you check all the measurements of the garment before purchasing. Vintage garment sizes are not the same as those of today. To ensure the best fit, we suggest you measure you favourite similar style garment and compare it to the measurements we have listed. All our measurements are taken whilst the garment is lying flat, we then double these measurements to reflect the actual size.
