This truly breathtaking late 1950's Venetian red satin dress, with a repeat embroidered floral pattern, rendered in red cotton and pink toned lamé threads is a magnificent piece to behold in your special occasion wardrobe.
The soft sweetheart neckline of the dress is framed by matching satin embroidered shoulder straps and a sleeveless cut. The fitted and boned bodice is accented by stylised pleats that radiate from the left hand side of the bust-line, creating an eye-catching detail whilst setting off the cinched in waistline. The elegant straight line cut of the skirt, is set of by single pleats to either side of the front of the waistline and is finished with an elegant fishtail hemline. The back of the dress boasts matching radiating pleats along the bodice and a central sewn panel along the back of the skirt-line framed to tether side by tailored darts, completing the fishtail flare along the bottom of the dress. This dress is fully lined in silk chiffon.

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. Slight thinning to the satin edges of the shoulder straps. A few very light surface scratches to the satin . A satin overlay mend to the right hand side of the bodice along the base of the armpit. A satin underlay mend to the left hand side of the bodice along the base of the armpit. ( These repairs have been done sympathetically and previously. )A few very light areas of wear to the satin finish beneath the waistline near each side seam. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn and only apparent upon closer inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
Fastenings: This dress fastens along the back with a 16.5 inch plastic zip and a hook and loop.
Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
Fabric: Embroidery in cotton and lamé threads, satin, silk chiffon lined, canvas lined along the bodice, boning along the bodice, plastic zip.
