This truly mesmerising 1940s dress, in wonderful shades of café creme and chocolate brown, accented by the most interestingly designed pleated skirt, is a rare piece to behold
Her V shaped neckline is framed by a pointed notched collar, a simple shoulder line and short length sleeves. Her elegant bodice, boasts two front pockets with turned down collars along the yokes. Her elegant central button fastenings, in tortoiseshell bakelite with brass trims, set off the cinched in waistline and elegant pleats that radiate upwards from the waist. Her belt is accented by a matching fabric belt that fastens to the side of the waistline with hook and eyes. The belt joins to the Venetian pleats by stitches along the top of each pleat panel. This design, creates the movement within the pleats. The elaborately pleated skirt, boasts sewn panels in the contrasting palette, showcasing a duo panels of colour, which when joined to the belt create wonderful movement when worn.

Condition: This dress is in well loved vintage condition. A small darn along the front of the right hand sleeve, just above the cuff. A small pin hole above the pocket of the right hand side of the yoke. Three small marks along the left hand side of the bodice, this appears to be where the buttons have originally been moved from.Age marks and foxing to the pleats in the skirt. These are more present along the left hand side, but are lightly scattered throughout. The issues listed above are not overly apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon closer inspection.
Fastenings: This dress fastens at the side with a 10.5 inch metal zip and 3 bakelite buttons to the front.
Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
