"Turquoise Flowers" Vintage Early 1940's Black Crepe Silk & Turquoise Beaded Dress UK 14 US 10

This breathtaking 1940's black crepe silk dress, embellished with the most incredible glass bead work in silver and turquoise, in a pattern of flowers, is a rare piece to behold and never again find.

Her high rounded neckline is framed by full sleeves edged with press stud fastenings along each cuff. Her elegant fitted bodice is accented by a decorative beaded panel along the left hand side yoke, that gathers loose pleats that drape down the bodice. Her cinched in waistline is accented by a a matching beaded panel that sits just beneath the waistline on the right hand side of the dress, accented by loose gathered pleats that fall into the simple skirt-line.
The back of the dress features a button down back, with pointed art deco seams along the back of the waistline.

Closures: This dress fastens to back with 5 buttons and a single press stud

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition, with 2 small darns to the right hand side cuff area, and 2 small darns to the left hand side sleeve. The 4th button to the back of the dress does not match the other buttons and appears to have been replaced somewhere in time. A mend to the left hand side armpit. These minor issues are not apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable under close inspection.

Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
