"Taupe Plaid" Vintage 1940's Taupe Plaid Dress UK 12 US 8

This wonderful and iconic 1940's day dress in a soft palette of grey and taupe plaid with white and black accents,  is just the piece for your everyday vintage wardrobe. 

The V shaped neckline is framed by a stylised pointed collar and a simple shoulder line accented by gathered pleats beneath the collar that radiate along the yokes. The short length wide sleeves are accented by fold up tabs, finished with black decorative buttons. The elegant bodice is set off by central black button fastenings, with a fold down tab beneath the top button. The cinched in waistline is set off by a matching fabric belt that fastens with a matching central buckle. The timeless A line cut of the skirt boasts a pocket along the right hand side hipline and double pleat features that run from either side of the front of the waistband, finished with button fastenings along the length, completing this dress in an iconic 1940's day wear silhouette.

Closures: This dress fastens along the centre front with 8 buttons and press stud along the waist. 


Condition: This dress is in near vintage condition.Very light straining to the cotton along each armpit. A small darn along the right hand side shoulder just beyond the top shoulder seam. Light and gentle wear to the cotton on the buckle.  These minor issues are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn. Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
