Made in the softest shade of ivory crepe silk, with lamé thread accented soutache embroidery, this original 1940's dress is just the piece for your vintage collection.
The V shaped cross over neckline is framed by a simple shoulder line, accented by small internal shoulder pads along each sleeve seam setting off the gathered pleats and short length. The yokes boast undulating soutache embroidered panels from which gathered pleats drape along the bust line to the drawn in waist, which is accented by 5 decorative tiers and a matching crepe silk tie which can be fastened along the back. The elegant skirt flows from gathered pleats to a simple hemline, completing this dress in a classic 1940's silhouette.

Condition: This dress is in wonderful vintage condition. Two small age marks to the front hemline and one pin sized mark to the back of the hemline. A scattering of foxing marks just below the nape. These minor details are not overly apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon closer inspection.
