This timeless 1950's silk floral dress and matching cardigan, in a palette of yellows, creams, lilacs and greys on a cream base background, is the perfect piece for your vintage wardrobe.
The sweetheart neckline of the dress is framed by thin silk shoulder straps, that set off the central pleated gather along the décolletage, from which pleats radiate across the bustling. The fitted bodice, sets off the cinched in waistline, which is accented by a matching silk covered belt. The elegant four panelled skirt, photographed here with a medium petticoat for added volume, completes this dress in a soft and iconic 1950's silhouette. The matching cardigan, boasts a silk turned down pointed collar, that joins the edged silk trimmed finish along the front. The simple short length sleeves are edged with matching silk cuffs, that frame the timeless open cut of the cardigan. square shaped neckline is framed by wide shoulder straps and a sleeveless cut. The bodice of the dress is lined and boned.

Closures: This dress fastens at the side with an 11 inch metal zip.
Condition: This dress set is in well loved vintage condition. The straps of the dress have browned with age. Discolouration and age marks along the top of the neckline and bodice, and armpit. A small seam mend to the front right hand side of the bodice above the waistline . The leather base of the belt has creases and a split. The silk covered buckle of the belt is fraying and lifting in some areas. Natural foxing and light age marks to the skirt, a small pin sized hole to the right hand side of the skirt.The cardigan has some light and gentle age marks to the silk finishes. Some scattered age marks to the left hand side shoulder line . A darn to the bottom right hand side of the hemline along the back . Two small darns along the right hand side yoke and sleeve. A small darn along the left hand side yoke. These imperfections, are not overly apparent when the dress and cardigan are worn, but are noticeable upon inspection. This piece has been priced accordingly.
