"Silk Beaded Dior" Vintage 1960's Raw Silk Bead Embellished Christian Dior Dress UK 12 US 8

Made in the most sumptuous shade of green, made with the softest of raw silks, this original 1960's Christian Dior Dress is a rare piece to add or to begin your vintage collection with.

The rounded neckline of the dress is framed by a border of silver glass bugle beads, pearlised plastic beads and rhinestones, in an undulating beadwork pattern, from which hangs looped silver glass bugle beads in a beaded fringing design. The sleeveless cut sets off the tailored bodice, set off by two front darts that run upwards from beneath the waistline. The nipped in waist is accented by a matching raw silk belt that is secured to the side of the waist with two press studs, and draws together with press studs in a stylised bow along the front of the dress. Her skirt line is set off by two large front pockets just beneath either side of the waist. Her tailored skirt completes this dress in an iconic late 1950's early 1960's silhouette.

The matching silk slip, in a soft shade of chartreuse green, boasts a rounded neckline and a sleeveless cut. The slip has an iconic shift cut that cinches in slightly along the waistline, and sits perfectly beneath the dress. The original Christian Dior Tab sits internally along the hemline of the dress.

Condition: The slip dress: A few small scattered pin holes along the back of the dress and waistline height. A small and light age mark to the centre part of the skirt. Some light and natural colour variation, a few small pinsizeod areas of wear to the silk. A light water mark to the back right hand side just beneath the zip fastening. These minor issues are not apparent externally as this part of the dress is worn beneath the main dress

The Dress:  Light beadwork loss along the neckline. Light and very minor colour variation along the armholes, with gentle wear to the raw silk. There is an area of light silk to the front left hand side of the bust-line, this appears to have been made when someone has previously tried to lift out a mark, the silk has lightened and the mark remains very faint.  A similar lighter area of silk accompanied with a light mark can be found along the mid height left hand side of the skirt. Small area of wear to the raw silk along the edges of the left hand side pocket. A small age mark along the left hand side skirt seam midway height. These minor issues are not visible when the dress is being worn, and do not in any way detract from the beauty or quality of this piece.
