This truly magnificent 1930's silk evening dress, entirely cut on the bias and embellished with a pattern of swimming fish amongst algae and reeds in silver beads and black sequins, is a rare piece to behold.
The V shaped neckline is framed by wide shoulder straps and sleeveless cut. The décolletage is accented by a central gather from which pleats radiate across the bust-line. The fitted bodice is accented by a cinched in waistline, accented by a central pointed seam that rounds downwards along the front of the waist. The elegant line of the skirt drapes along the silhouette, competing this dress in an iconic 1930's fashion.
