This breathtaking 1950's duchess satin gown, in the most eye-catching shade of petal pink and blush pink, is the perfect piece for that special occasion.
The straight cut of the neckline is framed by thin double shoulder straps that twist together along the top of the shoulder line. The blush pink duchess satin bust-line is accented by gathered pleats that radiate across the bust, setting off the fitted petal pink satin bodice. The cinched in waistline, sets off the full circle cut skirt, which drapes elegantly along the length of the skirt-line. The backline of the dress is set off by the pleated blush pink satin along the bust-line, that joins the back of the bodice in a cross over design, which fastens in place with hook and eyes, press studs and a Velcro panel. Finished with trailing twisted duchess satin roses, that radiate from the right hand side shoulder blade into the left hand side of the skirt, accented by green silk velvet millinery leaves, and the central back panel of the skirt which is rendered in a blush pink duchess satin.

Closures: This dress fastens at the back with a 13 inch metal zip along the side seam, 4 press studs and 4 hook and eyes along the central back of the bodice holding the pleated side panel in place, and two strands of Velcro beneath the satin to hold it in position.
Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. A few very small pin size aged marks to the pleated bust-panel ( These are well concealed within the pleats). Very light and gentle surface scratches to the duchess satin. A few very light scattered age marks to the central front part of the skirt-line, ( these are well concealed within the drape of the satin ) Light colour variation to the satin throughout, some of the petal pink satin appears paler in colour in some areas. The velcro fastening along the back of the bodice appears to have been positioned at some point in the dresses lifetime. Some light untidiness around the hook and eye and press stud fastenings along the backline of the dress ( these are not externally apparent as the cross over satin conceals this) These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon very close inspection.
