A marvel of its time, this original 1930's blue twill silk dress with a floral pattern in shades of grey, green and red, finished with red faille ribbon details and navy blue buttons, is a rare piece to behold.

The rounded neckline of the dress is framed by three keyhole features edged with red filled ribbon and finished with centrally positioned navy blue buttons. The simple shoulder line, sets off the inset mid-length sleeves which boasts three large key hole features, edged with red faille ribbon and decorated with navy blue buttons along each cuff. The elegant bodice, is accented by curved seams beneath the bust-line, from which pleats radiate upwards along the bust. The curved seams join centrally in a notched seam design between the bust. The fitted waistline of the dress sets off the elegant straight line cut of the skirt, completing this dress in a timeless 1930's silhouette. Finished with a keyhole design along the nape, to complete the simply mesmerising design of this piece.

Closures: This dress fastens along the side seam 5 press studs and a hook and eye and a hook and eye along the nape of the bodice with 4 buttons

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. Very light colour bleed to the twill silk along each armpit. A very small area of wear/pin hole to the left hand side seam wear the fabric is turned in for the fastenings. A small mend to the twill silk along the right hand sleeve just above the third keyhole feature. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon very close inspection. Please refer to the photographs, as they form part of the condition report.
