Made in the most exquisite shade of plum gabardine with lilac coloured visible stitches and accented by gold toned metal buckle details, this original 1940's dress is a rare piece to behold.

Her V shaped neckline is framed by a pointed notched collar, decorated with intricate stitching. Her simple shoulder line is accented by decorative rounded stitched panels that contour the sleeve seams, which in turn are decorated by rows of visible stitches and gold toned metal buckles along each yoke. Her full length bishops sleeves, are edged with wide turned up cuffs, decorated with gold toned rounded button fastenings. Her cinched in waistline, is accented by the concealed button fastenings that run along the length of the centre front of the dress. Her simple skirt, boasts gathered smocking stitches along either side of the front of the skirt, creating soft pleats within the drape of the gabardine.

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. A small seam mend along the mid height of the right hand side sleeve. This has been done previously. This is in no way apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon closer inspection
