Rendered in the softest palette of pale grey and blue silk chiffon and decorate with clear iridescent sequin, silver claw set rhinestones and gun metal grey bugle beads, this original 1950's dress is the perfect piece for that special occasion
The soft sweetheart neckline is framed by wide gathered and pleated silk chiffon shoulder straps that boast double running stitches along each shoulder line.The fitted bust-line is set off by pleated silk chiffon details that curve in a pleated panel along the front of the bust and join simple silk chiffon panels that continue along the back of bust-line. The fitted and boned bodice, is fully decorated with sequins, rhinestone and beads in a zig zag design, that draw the eye to the cinched in waistline. The embellishments lead on beneath the waistline and join the top of the skirt in a matching pattern that radiates in a soft curve along the front of the skirt, mimicking the shape found in the pleated silk chiffon gathers of the bust-line. The draped silk chiffon skirt falls from gathered pleats along the waistband, creating a soft line and completing this dress in an iconic 1950's silhouette. This dress is fully lined in a blue rayon. Closures: This dress fastens along the side seam with a 13 inch metal zip and two hook and loops .
Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. Colour variation to the silk chiffon, this is very subtle but appears more grey and then more blue in some areas, some areas of the silk chiffon are very light in colour. We feel the colour variation adds to the beauty of this piece and it is not apparent when the dress is being worn. Light and gentle beads and sequin loss. A few small scattered pin holes to the silk chiffon overlay of the skirt with a few very small pulls to the silk. Gentle colour variation to the rayon lining. Gentle and light yellowing along the armholes, again this is not apparent when the dress is being worn. These minor details are not noticeable and only apparent upon closer inspection.
