"Needlework Scenes" Vintage 1920's Embroidered Handbag


This beautiful and rare 1920's needlework handbag is a rare piece to behold and never again find.
With a central familial scene, in soft shades of coral, blue and gold, in silk and lamé threads, framed by different borders of swirling blue, antique gold and gold embroidery in silk and lamé threads. The reverse of the bag boasts a central garden scene, with botanical themed embroidery, in which you can see a small pagoda type structure, bordered with rows of embroidery, in red, blue and gold toned silk threads and lamé, The gold toned metal hardware frame, boasts a kiss lock clasp, which is framed with either side by a simple chain handle. The bag opens to a cream rayon lining, with a small side pocket.

Condition: In incredible vintage condition, with some of light wear to the silk embroidery, and slight tarnishing to the metal lamé thread features. Light and natural tarnishing to the metal features. Age and makeup marks to the lining. Some loss of embroidery details. These minor details are in no way apparent when the bag is being used, and do not detract from the incredible beauty of this piece.
