Rendered in a wonderful plaid pattern in shades of lilac, deep purple, pale blue and gold thread accents, this original 1950's silk taffeta dress is the perfect piece to add to your vintage collection.
The V shaped neckline, is framed by simple shoulder straps and a sleeveless cut. The fitted bodice, is accented by the plaid pattern creating a chevron design, which draws the eye to the cinched in waistline. The elegant Ballerina length skirt- drapes from gathered pleats beneath the waist-seam, setting off the full circle cut of the skirt, and completing this dress in a timeless and iconic 1950's silhouette.

Closures: This dress fastens along the centre back with a 13 inch metal zip and a hook and loop
Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. A small hole to the taffeta along the back right hand side of the dress concealed within the gathered pleats beneath the waistline. A small stitch mend to the back right hand side of the waist seam. An age mark along the centre back of the skirt at mid-way height, this is well concealed within the drape of the pleats. Mends to each armpit side. A small central age mark along the centre seam of the bodice along the bust-line. A few small pin holes and scattered water marks throughout the skirt line. A small pin sized area of wear along the right hand side of the décolletage along the neckline. Although the blemishes of this piece seem abundant, they are not overly apparent when the dress is being worn as they are well concealed within the lustre of the silk taffeta.
