This original 1940's dress, made in the most brightly coloured floral pattern, in shades of pink, lilac and coral on a green and yellow pattern of foliage, in a soft silk, is the perfect piece to welcome the warmer weather with.
The V shaped neckline is framed by a pleated shawl collar that conceals the sleeveless cut of the dress and creates the illusion of a capped sleeve. The shawl collar crosses over beneath the V shaped neckline in pleats that radiate across the shoulder lines. The fitted bodice is accented by a central pleated panel, that draws the eye to the cinched in waistline, which can be drawn in with matching fabric ties along the back of the dress. The elegant skirt, drapes from the waistline and boasts front sewn pleats to either side of the front of the hipline. The back of the dress features the back of the collar which is sewn in a pointed design along the centre of the back Finished with a kick pleat along the centre back of the hemline, this wonderful dress showcases the iconic tea dress style of the era.
This dress is lined in black rayon along the skirt-line.

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. There is a small patch mend to the back of the dress just above the central part of the waistline, and a small darn positioned near to it. These minor details are not apparent when the dress is being worn. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
