This truly mesmerising 1950's taffeta silk lagoon green dress, accented by draped pleats, which allow for the lustre of the taffeta to shine blue, is the perfect statement piece for your cocktail wardrobe.
The rounded neckline of the dress is framed by short capped sleeves cut in rounded scalloped designs. The fitted bodice of the dress is accented by a curved waist-panel which draws inward along the centre, setting off the radiating gathered pleats, that draw the eye to the fitted waistline. The curved waist panel, dips to either side of the hipline, framing the gathered pleats that radiate from below the waist into a full balloon cut skirt, which is in turn internally lined with tulle for added volume, completing this dress in an iconic 1950's silhouette. Finished with a large central bow along the back of the waistline.

Closures: This dress fastens with a 14 inch metal zip and a hook and loop fastening.
Condition: This dress is in good but not perfect vintage condition. A seam mend to either side of the armpits. A scattering of pale age marks to the centre front part of the hemline , these are well concealed within the pleats and drape of the dress. A few scattered age marks throughout the skirt-line, these are well concealed within the pleats and drape of the taffeta silk. These minor details are not apparent when the dress is being worn and not noticeable to the untrained eyed Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
