This rare and opulent 1920's lilac pink silk velvet cape, edged with lilac toned ostrich feathers, is a rare piece to behold and never again find.
The rounded neckline of the cape, fastens along the front with a matching silk velvet tie edged with ostrich feather trim. The simple shoulder line of the cape sets off the wonderful ruched gathers of the silk velvet, drawn together in running stitches, contrasting the softness of the ostrich feathers. The tiered ostrich feather hemline, is constructed on three silk bases, creating a tiered design. Fully lined in the softest of lilac silks, this original 1920's cape showcases the opulence of the 1920's.

Condition: in truly beautiful condition. Gentle age marks to the silk lining. Some light discolouration to the silk velvet ties along the front of the neckline. Some light stitch lifting along the back of the cape. Light and natural feather loss and colour variation to the feather. Some of the feathers have cone away in time. These minor issues are not overly apparent when the cape is being worn as the velvet and softness of the feathers conceal the minor imperfections.
