This breathtaking and rare 1950's Hardy Amies Dress in the most sumptuous midnight black satin, is a rare piece to behold.
Her sweetheart neckline is framed by a turned down collar and a single shoulder strap that pleats and gathers along the shoulder line, joining the left hand side in a wonderful bow that joins the front and the back of the turned down collar. Her fitted boned bodice features a side metal zip. Her cinched in waistline, is accented by a full circle skirt, that draws back around to the left hand side of the skirt in a feature sash design. The satin is embellished with curling and trailing sparkling soutache braiding, that at first glance appears to be glazed straw, but is in fact glazed nylon type braiding. This dress has been photographed with a medium petticoat for added volume.

Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for, they may however have a blemish or two. Here at Willow Hilson, we try our very best to note all the details of each garment, although we may sometimes overlook things, which we do apologise for. Please do not expect perfection, unless stated so.
Please make sure you check all the measurements of the garment before purchasing. Vintage garment sizes are not the same as those of today. To ensure the best fit, we suggest you measure you favourite similar style garment and compare it to the measurements we have listed. All our measurements are taken whilst the garment is lying flat, we then double these measurements to reflect the actual size.
