"Hand-Painted Silk" Vintage 1940's Silk CC41 Hand-Painted Dress UK 8 US 4

This truly breathtaking 1940's black crepe silk CC41 dress, with a hand painted and printed trailing pattern of blue bells and filigree decorative gold stems, is a rare piece to behold and never again find. 

Her V shaped neckline is framed by a wide pointed collar, decorated with painted accents, Her elegant shoulder line boasts small internal shoulder pads, that set off the 3/4 length sleeves, edged with painted accents just above the cuffs. Her fitted bodice is accented by mock silk covered buttons along the centre front, setting off the cinched in waistline, which can be drawn in along the back of the dress with the matching crepe silk tie. Her elegant skirt drapes from gathered pleats into a tiered panel hemline, decorated with painted accents along the base 2 tiers.

Closures: This dress fastens to the side with 5 press studs

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. A few very light areas where some of the paint has cracked, or come away. This is no apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon close inspection.

Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.

Fabric: crepe silk, hand painted some areas printed.
