A rare piece to behold, this original 1940's Lilli Ann Suit in a soft grey wool, accented by metal and rhinestone floral buttons , is the perfect piece of tailoring to add to your wardrobe.
The V shaped neckline of the jacket is framed by a pointed shawl collar that draws the eye to the double breasted cut, set off by the ornate metal floral buttons. Her strong shoulder line, an iconic feature of Lilli Ann, is set off by internally sewn shoulder pads. The full length sleeves are edged with turned up cuffs. The longline cut of the jacket, cinches in along the waistline, accented by double dart features, and the 2 front pockets positioned just below the waistline. The wonderful hemline of the jacket sits longer along along the back, which showcases panelled seams, and a central inverted pleat, creating a light and lowered back flair. The matching grey wool skirt completes this suit in an iconic straight cut.
The jacket is fully lined in silk, the skirt is not lined

Condition: This Jacket: A darn along the front of the right hand side sleeve. A darn along the left hand side shoulder seam. Two small darns along the nape. Colour variation and water mark beneath the cuff of the right hand side sleeve. Darns and a seam mend to the bottom right hand side front of the hemline. These mends have been done sympathetically and in the matching shade of grey wool. These minor mends are not overly apparent when the jacket is being worn, but noticeable upon closer inspection. The last button appears to have two rhinestones that have lost their sparkle.
The Skirt: there are 6 small darns to the back of the skirt, where there were once small pinholes. These are only apparent when the skirt is viewed inside out.
