"French Riviera" Vintage 1930's Floral Satin & Velvet Bias Cut Dress UK 10-12 US 6-8

This breathtaking 1930's satin and silk velvet bias cut dress, with the most eye catching palette of bright orange, pink, green blue and greys in a bold floral pattern, is a rare piece to behold and never again find.

Her elegant cowl neckline, gathers along the front of neck in wonderful draped pleats, and sets off the sleeveless cut. Her bias cut bodice, boasts a simple hook and eye fastening along the neck above a keyhole slit.
The cut of the satin bodice is accented by a central point seam above the waistline, where the sumptuous black velvet begins, from which radiates pleats beneath the bust-line. Her cinched in and bias cut waistline is set off by wonderful seam work in a triangle point formation, mimicking the shape of the triangular design along the bodice.
Her Bias cut skirt, skims the figure, and creates an iconic 1930's silhouette.
This piece has belt loops, but sadly her belt has been mislaid somewhere in time.

Vintage garments have been previously worn and lovingly cared for, they may however have a blemish or two. Here at Willow Hilson, we try our very best to note all the details of each garment, although we may sometimes overlook things, which we do apologise for. Please do not expect perfection, unless stated so.

Please make sure you check all the measurements of the garment before purchasing. Vintage garment sizes are not the same as those of today. To ensure the best fit, we suggest you measure you favourite similar style garment and compare it to the measurements we have listed. All our measurements are taken whilst the garment is lying flat, we then double these measurements to reflect the actual size.
