This intricate 1950's cream cardigan, embellished with trailing green embroidery in a foliage design, contouring embroidered floral appliqués in shades of yellow, green, orange, red, lilac, and blue, is the perfect piece for your seasonal wardrobe.
The rounded neckline of the cardigan is framed by a ribbed border and a simple shoulder line. The full length sleeves are edged with ribbed cuffs, with detailed floral appliqués and embroidery along each external side. The simple bodice of the cardigan is accented by the decorative embroidery and appliqués, framing the central pearlised button fastenings. Finished with a ribbed hemline, and a simple backline, this wonderful 1950's cardigan showcases the iconic knitwear fashion on the era.

Closures: This cardigan fastens down the centre front with 8 buttons.
Condition: This cardigan is in near perfect vintage condition. An age mark along the internal side of the right hand side sleeve, with a pin sized age mark just next to it. Two small age marks along the left hand side front of the bodice just beneath the bust line ( these are well concealed within the embroidery and floral appliqués . Very light thread lifting to some of the foliage embroidery. The last button does not appear to have a matching button hole. Yellowing to the internal faille ribbon internally behind the button and button holes. These minor details are not apparent when the cardigan is being worn and only apparent upon closer detail.
