A rare piece to behold in an iconic design, this original 1940's skirt suit, rendered in a pillow talk pink satin rayon, with an embossed scale like design, set against black velvet accents, is a key piece for your tailored wardrobe.
The deep V shaped neckline of the jacket is framed by a notched and pointed black velvet collar. The elegant shoulder line is accented by internally sewn shoulder pads, that set off the dolman cut of the sleeves. The 3/4 length sleeves are edged with wide black velvet turned up cuffs with pointed details to each external side. The tailored cut of the jacket is accented by off centre matching pink satin covered buttons, framed to either side by tailored darts, that draw in the waistline. Finished with a lightly flared hemline .The simple fitted waistband of the skirt boasts a side hook and zip fastenings. The elegant cut is accented by tailored darts to either side of the front of the skirt beneath the waistband, setting off the elegant line , and the small side splits to each side seam, and completing this ensemble in an iconic 1940's silhouette.

Condition: This suit is in wonderful vintage condition. The jacket has two very small areas of wear to the rayon satin along the right hand side shoulder. Gentle colour variation to the rayon satin throughout, this appears slightly lighter in colour in some areas. A small area of wear to the rayon satin along the external side of the right hand side sleeve. Light yellowing to the rayon satin along the sleeves. A few very light surface scratches that look like slightly darker impression marks to the satin finish along the back of the jacket. The skirt has a few very small surface scratches and slightly darker impression marks to the rayon satin, and has 4 very light linear marks along the back central seam. Very light and gentle colour variation, the skirt appears slightly lighter in colour in some areas. These minor details are in no way apparent when the suit is being worn, and only noticeable upon close inspection. Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
