This magnificent 1910's Edwardian lawn cotton dress, with detailed embroidery and lace accents is a rare piece to behold.
The pointed collar, decorated with eyelash lace scalloped edgings, lace inserts and embroidery, frames the neckline and sets off the simple shoulder line. The 3/4 length sleeves are edged with wide cuffs with decorative lace inserts, drawing the eye to the central lace panel inserts along the sleeves, framed to either side by thin stitched pleats. The decorated bodice, boasts central floral motif embroidery, framed to either side my lace panel inserts, and slim stitch pleats , accented by embroidery. Her drawn in waistline, sets off the wonderful long line drape of the skirt, which is finished with wide floral embroidery from midway down the skirt, completing this dress in an iconic and timeless Edwardian fashion.
This dress is thin cotton and may need to be worn with a slip to conceal ones modesty.

Closures: This dress fastens with 10 hook and eyes along the side seam of the skirt and back of the waistband. 6 press studs along the front of the collar . 4 buttons long the back of the bodice.
Condition: In near perfect vintage condition, some light scattered small pin sized age marks along the right hand side of the neckline beneath where the collar sits so these are not apparent. Two small pin sized age marks along the front of the hemline of the skirt. A few pin sized age mark along the right hand side sleeve. These minor details are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn, and only apparent under very close inspection.
