This original 1930's dress and matching waistcoat, rendered in a deep navy blue wool crepe, accented by pleats and smocking stitches, is the perfect ensemble for your everyday wardrobe.
The V shaped neckline of the dress is framed by a turned down collar. The shoulder line is accented by gathered smocking stitches, enabling the wool crepe silk to drape in soft pleats along the length of the bodice, joining the central smocking stitch panel along the waistline. The full length sleeves boast fitted cuffs, that fastens with press stud fastenings. The elegant waistline is accented by a matching fabric belt. The skirt, is set off by central pleats that drape from the central smocking stitch along the waistline, framed to either side by the panel seams of the skirt, and finished with a central kick pleat along the centre back of the hemline.
The matching waistcoat boasts an edge to edge cut and a simple shoulder line with a sleeveless cut. The timeless cut, is set off by seams along each yoke, from which box pleats drape along the length of either side of the front of the waistcoat. The back of the waistcoat is set off by inverted pleats to either side of the central back panel.
