An unforgettable piece, this original 1930's deep crimson red silk velvet dress, with gathered pleated accents, is the perfect statement piece for that special occasion.
The off centre V shaped cross over neckline of the dress is framed by gathered pleats that radiate from the angled cross over seam along the left hand side of the bodice, draping across the bust-line to the waist. The under layer of the cross over bodice boasts gathered seams from the left hand side of the neckline. The strong shoulder line of the dress is accented by internally sewn velvet shoulder pads, which set odd the short length cross over sleeves. The fitted and cinched in waistline of the dress is set off by matching wide red velvet waist ties, which can be worn drawn in along the front or the back of the dress, cinching in the waistline and accenting the drape of the velvet. The wonderful skirt-line boasts an angular seam along the hipline, from which gathered pleats radiate along the left hand side, adding to the incredible drape of the velvet, completing this dress in an iconic silhouette.
