"Crepe Silk & Bows" Vintage 1940's Cream Crepe Silk Bow Embellished Peplum Dress UK 8-10 US 4-6

This incredible 1940's cream crepe silk dress, accented by soutache, cut out embroidery and crepe silk appliqués, is a rare piece to behold and never again find.

Her elegant rounded neckline, is framed by gathered crepe silk ribbon appliqués that contours the neckline and join the left hand side yoke in an elaborate double bow detail, with trailing soutache and cut out embroidery foliage, that leads the eye down the bodice. Her short length sleeves, framed the simple cut of the bodice. Her cinched in waistline, is accented by a wonderful peplum features along the hip line, that trails along the back of the dress to form a wonderful waterfall bustle feature. The simple straight cut skirt, features a front split along the hemline.

Closures: This dress fastens at the back with a simply button and loop, and to the side with a 10 inch concealed metal zip and 2 press studs.

Condition: This dress is in perfect vintage condition. Some light rust marks to the button fastening along the back of the neckline. This minor imperfection is in no way apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable under close inspection.
