This breathtaking 1930's cornflower blue crepe silk chiffon dress, accented my gold toned lamé embroidery, clear glass beads and bronze coloured faceted beads, is a rare piece to behold.
The high rounded neckline is framed by a soft turned down collar. The simple shoulder line, is accented by dropped shoulder seams from which beneath 4 rows of smocking stitches gather the silk chiffon in pleats that radiate along the bust-line. The short length sleeves, boast smocking stitches along the top of the joining sleeve and shoulder seam, allowing for the silk to drape and pleat along the shoulders and down the sleeves. The fitted bodice, is accented by a decorated waist-panel that joins the central part of the bodice in a point. The gathered pleats that drape along the bust-line gather beneath the waist panel seam. The waist panel is accented by decorative lamé embroidery framed by clear glass beads and accented by faceted bronze beads. The wonderful full length cut of the skirt-line boasts a bias cut and a full circle design, allowing for the silk to drape effortlessly along the silhouette. Finished with a key hole feature along the name which draws in with a matching silk covered button and loop.
This dress is slightly sheer and may need to be worn with a dress slip to conceal ones modesty.
