Rendered in the most breathtaking shade of coral pink chiffon, decorated with teal blue silk velvet flowers, this original 1950's evening gown is a true statement piece to behold.
The elegant V shaped neckline of the dress is accented by a shawl cut décolletage , which gathers in wide pleats along the pointed centre, beneath the silk velvet floral appliqués. The sleeveless cut, sets off the fitted and boned bodice, which is accented by a pleated panel that runs from the base of the back-line to the central part of the bust-line, joining the pleated shawl décolletage. The cinched in waistline is accented by a pointed piped seam, from which the soft pleated gathers of the skirt-line drape along the length of the skirt. Finished with a decorative bow along the back, this truly magnificent dress showcases the iconic evening wear silhouette of the era. The dress is lined in matching coral pink rayon, and boasts a tulle underskirt and a cotton interfacing skirt.

Closures: This dress fastens at the back with a 19 inch metal zip and a press stud below the decorative back bow.
Condition: This dress is in perfect vintage condition. A small brown thread appears to have been woven into the chiffon along the front left hand side of the skirt-line, this is not apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable upon very close inspection. The tulle underlay has a raw hemline and some scattered holes to it. This is not apparent when the dress is being worn and the tulle underlay is concealed by the chiffon top layer.
