This truly beautiful 1940's navy blue silk chiffon dress, with a decorative border of pink velvet pile soutache floral embroidery, accented by pink toned iridescent sequins and gun metal silver bugle beads, is just the piece to add to your collection.

The rounded neckline of the dress, is framed by a border of trailing floral embellishments in velvet soutache embroidery, sequins and beads, edged with a navy blue satin piped edge. The short capped sleeves are edged with navy blue satin piping and frame the fitted bodice. The bust-line of the dress is accented by triple pleated panels that draw in along a central seam, and create a pocket detail along each side of the bodice. The fitted waistline, is accented by gathered smocking stitches that radiate from either side of the front of the waistband into the skirt, creating elegant drape and pleating to the silk chiffon. This dress is fully lined in navy rayon.

Closures: This dress fastens along the side seam with an 11 inch metal zip.
Condition: This dress is in good vintage condition. A few very small scattered pin holes along the right hand side sleeve and along the joining area of the bodice . A few very small scattered pin holes to the left hand side sleeve. A very small pin hole to the front right hand side of the bodice just above the waist seam. A few very small scattered pin holes concealed within the drape of the skirt. Light and minor bead loss along the neckline. These minor issues are in no way apparent when the dress is being worn, and only noticeable upon close inspection.

Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
