This collectible and truly magnificent 1950's dress by Alfred Shaheen, rendered in the most vibrant shade of aqua blue silk, with a gold and white toned floral and bird print, is just the piece to welcome the new season with.
The rounded neckline is framed by a simple shoulder line. The 3/4 length sleeves, frame the fitted bodice and draw the eye to the detailed 4 panelled waistband, that joins the back of the dress in a matching covered belt buckle, which allows for the waist to be cinched in . The elegant skirt, is accented by two front pockets along the hipline that sit behind single pleats, drawing the eye to the timeless straight line cut. Finished with a central slit along the back of the hemline and fully lined in ivory rayon.

Condition: This dress is in near perfect vintage condition. A small age mark along the back right hand side of the hemline . An area of impression marks to the back left hand side lower part of skirt . Very light fading to the print along the right hand side armpit . A very small pin hole to the front lower part of the skirt. A small age mark along the front right hand side of the skirt beneath the waistline. These minor details are not apparent when the dress is being worn and only noticeable under closer inspection. The sheen of the silk conceals the imperfections.
