"Midnight in June" Vintage 1940's Crepe Silk Plum Beaded Dress UK 12

This original 1940's dress, made in the most sumptuous shade of plum coloured crepe silk, with intricate jet black glass bugle beads, is the perfect piece for your vintage wardrobe.

Her gathered sweetheart neckline is framed by pleated shoulders and a sleeveless cut. Her fitted bodice is embellished with trailing beadwork to each side, drawing the eye to the cinched in waistline, accented by a rolled seam. Her elegant skirt, with diagonal seams to the left hand side hip, and seams along the side of the right hand side hip,sets off a wiggle cut, accented in turn by rounded rows of matching beadwork, that trail along the length of the skirt.
Her decorative back, boasts an of centre zip fastening, framing the central seamed panel.

Measurements Of The Dress

Armpit to Armpit: up to 36 inches

Shoulder to Hem: 43 inches

Waist: up to 30 inches

Condition: This dress is in near perfect condition, with an age mark to the back panel of the skirt, it is lightly concealed within the colour of the crepe silk, although not visible when the dress is worn. 2 very small puckers to the silk on the right hand side of the hip, and a small darker mark near the hem on the right hand side front of the skirt, this isn't visible under initial inspection as it blends in within the elaborate bead work. Some general light colour variation to the crepe silk, this is a natural process that occurs with age, this is not visible when the dress is being worn.

Fastenings: This dress fastens to the back with a 16 inch metal zip, a press stud and a hook and loop.

Washing instructions: This garment should be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water.
