The tartan plaid has played the most outstanding role in the history of vintage fashion. When thinking back to the time when tartan first started, popular opinion would locate tartan's roots in Scottish heritage. However, the earliest examples of this beautiful plaid dates back to 3000 BC. Tartan serves as a mural and once again one is reminded that our modern trends have an intricate history to their fame. This is just one of the reasons why vintage fashion is so invaluable in today's fast fashion world.
On many occasions the most inspiring ideas and plans for capturing our beautiful stock can come to mind and feel so exciting to initiate. Also on many occasions, the reality of bringing these ideas to fruition leave the initial idea lost in a blur of budget requirements, weather changes and sometimes, it just not working out.
We spend our morning going through beautiful vintage, and if it wasn't for the sudden drop in temperature, -4 I am sure we would have spent the entire day choosing new stock for the shop. It was so cold that my feet were numb and my hands were like ice, textiles always seem to be colder to the touch in the winter.
